Jazz apples, the trademark name of the cultivar Scifresh, is a cross between the Gala and Braeburn and was launched in New Zealand, in April 2004.
Jazz apples are tangy-sweet, crunchy and juicy. They have a firm, dense flesh and a complex flavor with the acid of Braeburn and the sweet of Royal Gala giving it broad appeal. The Jazz brand is owned and used by ENZA and, through our relationship Fruition PO growers are the sole UK growers. We have orders for further plantings to satisfy the rapidly growing demand for a premium product in UK supermarkets.
